The year 1941 came, and Irakli was drafted into the war. He miraculously escaped the battle of Kerch. “At times, the shelling was so intense that one had no choice but to kneel down and pray fervently,” he recalled..
During one of the dislocations of the army, he accidentally meets an artist from St. Petersburg, who is the head of a local military club. Irakli paints large-format propaganda war posters for the army in the club, creates an ensemble, and organizes a cinema theater. It’s all done by one man.
